In conjunction with the April release of her book, Amanda Knox has agreed to speak with ABC News' Diane Sawyer in what certainly ranks as one of the more noteworthy exclusives of recent months.

The details:

The exclusive interview will air during prime-time special on Tuesday, April 30, at 10 p.m., ET on the ABC Television Network. It will also be featured across all ABC News broadcasts and platforms including “World News with Diane Sawyer,” “Good Morning America,” and “Nightline” as well as, Yahoo!, ABC News Radio, and ABC’s local affiliates.

Does Knox need an intro? OK, just in case: The Washington state native went to Italy, was accused/convicted/jailed in the murder of her roommate, released October 2011, but not before the Lifetime movie starring Hayden Panettiere aired (!).

Knox has been covered relentlessly by the networks and you can be certain CBS and NBC made big pitches as well. The book is called “Waiting to be Heard,” and will be published by HarperCollins April 30.
