Amy Brumfield comes in to a "Hi, beautiful girl" from Steven Tyler on "American Idol." She's homeless so she lives in a tent out in the woods with her boyfriend. Wow. She's very down to earth and has no self pity. She says they're "working hard and trying to get out."

Singing Alicia Keys' "Superwoman," there is real power and emotion in her voice. Judges are stone quiet listening to her. She giggles at the end. Randy Jackson likes her tone, and they all exult over the power. Easy to say, but it's why we watch the show ... to see people's lives change.
