Angie Miller, Candice Glover or Kree Harrison is about to be cut as "American Idol" names its two finalists.
First person into the finale is Glover! Which is awesome; she deserves to be in, but there were some real doubts about her level of fan support. I'm assuming fan favorite -- and the front-runner for most of the season -- Miller will join her, which would also be well-deserved.
The second person into the finale is... Harrison! Oh wow, what a huge upset! I don't think Miller's even been in the bottom two or three this year!
There are a lot of tears and random movement on stage, not sure anyone thought this was going to happen.
Shows how much of 'Idol' is driven by story rather than singing -- there's no doubt Miller has been a better singer than Harrison all season, and especially the last few weeks.
But Harrison's visit home last night, particularly when she and her sister went to the house where they grew up before they lost both their parents, was amazingly emotional and brought the judges and much of the audience to tears.
Miller keeps breaking down while trying to sing her farewell song, Colton Dixon's "Never Gone." Never seen this level of emotion from her. She's a trooper but she can't finish and just stops after a while; I'm sure she's in shock right now, everyone assumed she'd be in the finale, easily.
Wow. What an unexpected finale; Glover deserves to win, but who knows -- nobody thought Kris Allen was gonna beat Adam Lambert, either.
