"Better Call Saul," the highly anticipated "Breaking Bad" spin-off/prequel, will bow on AMC, Sunday, Feb. 8, the network announced.

But let's not bury the lead: It will then shift to Mondays, where it will air as AMC's first weeknight scripted series. And yes, that's a relief, given the logjam of quality TV on Sunday nights.

The statement: "This February, during AMC's first ever two-night series premiere event, we’re going to introduce Jimmy McGill to the world. Known to 'Breaking Bad' fans as Saul Goodman, viewers will soon discover Saul wasn't always Albuquerque’s top criminal (criminal) lawyer,” said AMC President Charlie Collier. “Huge thanks to Vince Gilligan, Peter Gould, Bob Odenkirk, our partners at Sony, and the entire team. We’re thrilled to be cooking together again."

Good heavens, what else was Saul if he wasn't that? We are all about to find out. The series will air Mondays at 10, after that Feb. 8, 10 p.m., Sunday launch.
