Big Michael Lynche's sensitive side wows judges, impresses Usher

Big Michael Lynche is singing "Ready for Love" and playing the guitar on "American Idol." Usher tells him to make sure he's connecting with his audience.

Hmm, interesting stripped down beginning, just his voice floating over the chords, a bit touchy-feely with the dramatic lighting and hushed tone but you're definitely listening to him. He's got some people swaying back and forth, arms held out. Definitely a great vocal, soars effortlessly and he's totally sincere. Big applause at the end.

Randy liked the "sensitive" song, says he's "in the zone." He adds that it's not as exciting, but its good to pull it back every now and then. Ellen says "that was beautiful, I loved it." Kara says "you did an incredible job with it," and that she really liked it.

Simon says this is the first time "I could take you seriously as an artist."He tells him he was original and had a moment, and that he thought it was believable and terrific.

Usher tells Ryan that Michael "connected. I loved it, man."
