Boomer TV: "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." debuts (1964)

Continuing our look at fall season premieres past.

Today, we salute NBC's "The Man from U.N.C.L.E., which debuted on Sept. 22, 1964, bringing the James Bond craze to the small screen.

Robert Vaughn and David McCallum (yes, Ducky from "NCIS" -- the guy must have a thing for initial-titled TV shows) starred as a pair of extremely cool secret agents

Semi-useless fact: The concept for the show was developed by none other than Bond creator Ian Fleming. He wanted to call it "Solo." Check out this very hip theme:
