"Law & Order: SVU" -- now the last one standing in the venerable franchise -- had to deal immediately with the loss of Christopher Meloni, who returned to the big screen, and it has: Kelli Giddish and Danny Pino have joined the series. Pino -- longtime Det. Scotty Valens as "Cold Case" fans know -- makes sense, but why Giddish? Perhaps, just perhaps, NBC is laying the groundwork for the day Mariska Hargitay leaves.

Tom Sizemore -- who has had his share of career-disrupting legal troubles -- will join "Hawaii Five-0" in a two-episode arc.

Michelle Trachtenberg -- Georgina Sparks from "Gossip Girl" -- joins "Weeds" in a guest role as “'Emma,'' a sexy, intelligent, low-level, pot-dealing rival to Nancy..." Perfect bit of casting, that.

Martin Short, in a recurring role on "How I Met Your Mother;" he'll play Marshall's boss, per the Vulture.
