Sensitive rocker Colton Dixon or big-voiced Brit Hollie Cavanagh are about to go home as "American Idol" cuts to its top six, after Elise Testone was surprisingly sent back to safety out of the bottom three.
I think it'll be Cavanagh, but who knows.
And it's .?.?. Dixon! Shocker; his first time in the bottom three all season, and he goes home!
He tells the judges and mentor Jimmy Iovine, "I have to apologize. I wasn't myself last night, and I didn't take your advice."
Classy thing to say, especially since he told the cameras backstage last night after getting criticized, "I don't want to sound arrogant, but I don't care!"
He really is a very decent guy, was just caught up in the heat of the moment, I think. He was one of my favorites in the finals; I thought he was creative, sincere, strong vocally and truly likable.
Sings himself off on his knees, with what he said earlier in the season was one of his favorite worship songs, Lifehouse's "Everything." One of the better final songs we've heard.
