"Dancing with the Stars" crowned a season 17 winner Tuesday night, and in truth, the winner is a "he" as much a "she." "He" is one of the best professional dancers in the world and a multiple winner on this show "He" is also the biggest star on "DWTS" -- easily, ironically, a larger presence than just about any other "star" season in and season out. He knows how to teach, he knows how to win. And by this point, you are possibly at the jump, and all can be revealed: Amber Riley won last night. But you, as a fan, even a casual one, already knew that. Then there's her partner: Derek Hough. Last night was his fifth win overall, by far the most for any other professional here. This is his second-straight win and some people think he should have won with Shawn Johnson, too, and nearly did, which meant Hough would have crowned three straight winners.
In fact, Hough has dominated this show for the last seven seasons (I believe he was off the 12) with a total of four wins over the span, a second, third and fourth place finish. This is one reason why Riley was favored at the start of this season. Anyone who is paired with Hough is favored.
So take a bow, Derek. Again.
Here's one of a pair of perfect 30s from Monday night -- they were obvious favorites to win then, too.
