Here's the statement, just released:
'This was a misunderstanding on one person's part," Matthew Hiltzik said. "Alec was quickly released from the hosptial, he's completely fine and will be at work today."
For those just catching up to this, a 911 call was made from Baldwin's apartment this morning, apparently claiming he was unresponsive. Reports said the call was made by daughter Ireland and he was rushed to hospital. Baldwin was released a short time later.
(Of course, if these facts are accurate, as first reported by "Today in New York" this morning, why didn't Baldwin just turn away the EMS at his door when they got there? You can sure there will other questions today.)
Baldwin, as you are aware, is scheduled to co-host the Oscars March 7 with Steve Martin.
