Fans vote Scotty McCreery into 'American Idol' finals, Robbie Rosen not

"American Idol" is finally live in 2011, as they cut half of their contestants to get down to their top 12 finalists. Ryan Seacrest says 40 million votes were cast over the last two night.

Who will the finalists be? I predict: Thia Megia, Jacob Lusk, Pia Toscano, Casey Abrams, Scotty McCreery, James Durbin, Robbie Rosen, Rachel Zevita, Julie Zorrilla, Paul McDonald, Stefano Langone and Lauren Alaina  for the mandatory fifth women's spot.

We're almost 20 minutes into the show and they've just been wasting time, showing clips and now some entertaining but odd studio interviews. Casey Abrams has the line of the night -- "I look like somebody who couldn't do anything in life except serve burgers."

Finally, it's time to see who moves on. Scotty and Robbie are both up first. Oh-oh, if one of these guys didn't move on based on fan votes it's gonna be LI's Robbie. Randy Jackson tells him he's a true singer-songwriter.

And now the vote . . . Scotty moves on, Robbie does not. Well, maybe he'll get one of the two judges' wild cards!

Clint, Jordan and Jovany are up next up. Clint is like hyperventilating. I'm not nuts about any of them, they were three of my bottom four from the other night. Ha -- and none of them move on! Cool.
