Joshua Ledet gets a "happy birthday" from Fantasia via video on "American Idol," he's singing Bruno Mars' "Runaway Baby." Guest mentor Akon likes how "he's quiet -- and he really listens."
That's exactly right; Ledet's a serious, good guy who cares about his music.
He's going 100 miles right from the start, just spitting out the lyrics, moving all around the stage. He's like James Brown; he's on stage, owns the place, and you can't take your eyes off him. Not crazy about the song choice, but a fun, professional performance to watch.
Jennifer Lopez says he's so dynamic, "takes control of the audience." Randy Jackson calls it "unbelievable," tells him "you're really in the zone."
His dad's in the audience for the first time, comes up -- wearing his Team Josh T-shirt -- and gives him a hug.
Skylar Laine and Colton Dixon doing Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson's "Don't You Wanna Stay," she says everyone already thinks they're dating and this love duet isn't going to help things.
Uh, really; they're so not the same speed. He says, "I can assure you we are not dating, period. And that's because she owns a gun." Ha! And yet, true.
Their voices blend well, and they're actually listening to each other -- they're a good duet team. "You just made love singing to each other," says Steven Tyler. "Gorgeous."
