They won't be there for you: "Friends," despite Internet reports, is not returning either for a reunion show or a reunion season.

Series co-creator Marta Kauffman vociferously shot down recent rumors, telling E! Online she'd heard them Monday while at a bar with a friend. "This whole group of people comes in and they're all abuzz because they heard 'Friends' is coming back for another season. I just wanted to go, 'No, no. No, no, no.' I'm going to clear this up right now: No. Not happening."

As well, NBC representatives confirmed to Entertainment Weekly and E! that no reunion of its 1994-2004 hit sitcom is being contemplated.

As Kauffman explained to E!, " 'Friends' was about that time in your life when your friends are your family, and once you have a family, there's no need anymore."

Kauffman also said there were no plans in the works for a "Friends" feature film.
