The creator of “Full House” has just bought the real house — the San Francisco home whose exterior served as that of the Tanner brood’s on ABC’s fondly remembered family comedy.

“My new house in San Francisco. Look familiar?!” writer-producer Jeff Franklin, 61, tweeted Thursday, linking to an Instagram image of himself at the doorway of the iconic home at 1709 Broderick St. In May he posted a picture of himself and his dog there, writing, “Charlie and I went to San Fran to go house hunting. This one looks familiar. Think I should buy?!”

Franklin, who also has served as a producer on series including “Bosom Buddies” and “It’s Garry Shandling’s Show” and created the current Netflix reunion series “Fuller House,” told The Hollywood Reporter that the 1883 edifice “came on the market and really, I just thought, I have to buy this house.” Purchased this fall for about $4 million, the magazine said, the Italianate Victorian has four bedrooms and four bathrooms in its nearly 2,500 square feet.

“I’m so sentimental about the house,” Franklin said. “It’s great to have the house in our ‘Full House’ family and be able to preserve it for the fans. . . . Seriously, I love owning this house.” He told the magazine he plans to remodel the interiors to resemble the “Full House” set.

In addition, “We would take advantage of the fact that I now own the house, and we could go up there and shoot some new footage and maybe bring the cast up and shoot with them up there.” For the 30th anniversary of the show, which premiered Sept. 22, 1987, he said, “That will be around the time that all of my construction will be done so I hope to bring the cast up to the house and have a big slumber party here so people can drive by and actually see the Tanner family living there for one whole day. . . . That would be pretty fun.”

“Full House” starred Bob Saget as widower Danny Tanner, raising his three young daughters (Candace Cameron, Jodie Sweetin and, as the youngest child, twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen) with the help of his brother-in-law (John Stamos) and his best friend (Dave Coulier).
