"Game of Thrones" will soon be back, and right on schedule -- April, or its usual starting point.
HBO just gave an exact date -- April 12 -- which also marks the return date for "Veep" and "Silicon Valley." The latter was the network's highly regarded freshman from Mike Judge.
There is some method to HBO's timing on announcing this, right now: Each of the series is up for a Golden Globe Sunday night, or multiple Golden Globes, either in the actor or drama/comedy categories. Of course, HBO expects some winners Sunday night, which is a very good bet. (I still think the Globes could -- and certainly should -- hand the best drama award to "GoT.")
GAME OF THRONES begins its 10-episode fifth season Sunday, April 12 (9-10 p.m.).
SILICON VALLEY returns for its 10-episode second season April 12 (10-10:30 p.m.)
VEEP launches its 10-episode fourth season April 12 (10:30-11 p.m.).
