With the much-delayed "Green Hornet" movie starring Seth Rogen finally arriving in theaters Friday, the folks at Syfy are offering viewers a rare chance to see the 1966-67 series again. On Tuesday, the show's entire run will air on Syfy starting at 10 a.m.
TV's "Green Hornet" came on the air in the wake of the incredible popularity of another ABC superhero series, "Batman," which had debuted in January 1966. But unlike that show, the "GH" played it straight -- no holy! expletives, no famous guest villains, no comic pow-biff-bam balloons. Just a piece of wood known as Van Williams as the title character and a then-unknown-to-us martial artist named Bruce Lee as his faithful sidekick, Kato.
I'm betting that the show doesn't hold up well (it wasn't all that great 44 years ago), but it'll still be cool to catch a coupla episodes. Check out these memorable opening credits:
