WNYW/5 anchor Greg Kelly -  NYC Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly's son, who is  under investigation by the Manhattan DA for an alleged sexual assault - will not be returning to the air in the immediate future.

WNYW/5 just released a statement, attributed to station general manager, Lew Leone, "Greg Kelly has requested some time off."

A station spokeswoman declined to elaborate beyond the statement. Steve Lacey  is expected to co-anchor "GDNY" Friday. Kelly was not on the air this morning, while the station reported shortly after 7 and again after 9 that he was under investigation by the DA. Kelly's lawyer has released a statement denying the allegation, while adding that he expected to be fully exonerated.

Kelly, a former Marine fighter pilot, joined "GDNY" in 2008.
