Haley Reinhart is next on "American Idol." She was born in 1990 and she's singing Whitney Houston's "I'm Your Baby Tonight."
She comes out strong and doing her tricks with her voice. The thing about her is it's usually not easy to listen to her. You have to work at it.
I don't know. She's trying really hard, and is really performing the song, but it just doesn't connect with me. The first few singers are always not quite there every week, not sure why. She's just not moving me.
Jennifer Lopez gives her the kiss of death. She starts with, "you look so beautiful tonight." Praises the voice, says you seem unsure in your movements, "don't force anything, do what comes naturally."
Ryan Seacrest interrupts for a minute to help her wipe lipstick off her chin -- she was holding the mike up to her lips, I guess.
Randy Jackson then says you've been all over the place with song selection, who are you? He says the vocals were just OK. And Steven Tyler wants more blues in her voice.
