Heejun Han, Skylar Laine or Hollie Cavanagh are about to go home as "American Idol" cuts to its final eight. I really hope it's not Han, who's just hitting his stride; think it'll be Cavanagh but Laine would be fine, too.

They send Laine back to safety right away. And it's -- Han. Ugh! He's gotta sing for his life, but I don't think the judges will use their save on him. Let's see; he's singing "Song for You."

I mean, he's just fantastic, pouring his heart out there, is relaxed and just singing. The audience is screaming. Judges are deliberating.

He's my favorite contestant this year not just because of the great tone in his voice, but because he seems like a genuinely good guy; he's funny, charismatic, smart, different. And even as he hid behind his jokes, there was always a genuine vulnerability that came through.

Jennifer Lopez is crying as he wraps it up. Steven Tyler says, "You took it up a couple of notches, but unfortunately after talking, we're going to have to let you go."

Gonna miss him a lot. Show won't be the same -- or as much fun.
