Hollie Cavanagh told not to think so much on 'American Idol'

Hollie Cavanagh singing "What a Feeling" from "Flashdance" next on "American Idol." Guest mentor Gwen Stefani tells her to sing it tough, with an edge.

Back from the taped practice footage to the live performance -- they're having trouble powering up the keyboard, so Ryan Seacrest stalls for time by asking Cavanagh some random question. Must be unnerving.

They get it fixed, she starts off slow and controlled. Hmm, it's nothing special; I really like her voice and its tone, but this is a song we've heard a million times and she's not doing anything memorable with it. Although her turquoise fringed dress is kind of interesting. She's in danger of going home tomorrow.

Steven Tyler says "your pitch was all over the place, I'm so sorry to tell you." Jennifer Lopez says you're listening to what everyone's telling you, "but at the end of the day you have to let it go." She's right; just soak it in before, then go up and perform.

Randy Jackson reiterate how they all think she has the talent, but tells her not to think so much.
