Hollie Cavanagh told to stop trying to please everyone on 'American Idol'

Hollie Cavanagh up first on "American Idol" singing Ike and Tina Turner's "River Deep, Mountain High." Guest mentor Steven van Zandt gets her right away -- tells her to stop trying to please the judges or entertain the audience, just sing.

Not sure about this song choice; her voice isn't really deep enough for it, sounding thin to me. It gets better as she sings, lots of energy; and gets the judges all excited.

"You showed me you got it in you," says Steven Tyler. Jennifer Lopez likes how she "attacked" the song, "really felt the energy."

"I loved it too!" says Randy Jackson.
