James Durbin closes out Motown night on "American Idol" with "Living For the City," yet another Stevie Wonder song.
Oooh, starts with some falsetto. It's nice, it totally fits. He's got that natural, infectious smile spreading across his face. A great energy, tone is just right, we've got something here. He's really performing it out. He's so at ease on stage, dancing across it, having fun with the crowd.
See, this is how it's done. Definitely the best overall performance of the night and he gets big applause.
"Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God," exults Jennifer Lopez, sounding exactly like a valley girl. She loved his performance, calls it an "incredible thing to watch."
Randy Jackson nuttily says he was rough at the start, to big boos and J.Lo's vehement denial, Then he says he loved it by the end. Steven Tyler says, "sometimes it takes a little bit of being crazy to make a difference in this world."
If that's so, Tyler should get the Nobel.
