Jenn Hirsh, Jeremy Rosado turn in remarkable 'American Idol' wild card performances as Brielle von Hugel trails

Jenn Hirsh, first up on "American Idol" to sing for one of the three judges' wild cards, gives a great answer when Ryan Seacrest asks where she thought it went wrong. "I don't think it 'went wrong,' I just don't think I stood out as much, and I want to prove to you that I belong."

She sang The Beatles' "Oh Darling" and it was just searing! Wow, what a passionate, gutsy performance. She wants this bad and lays it all out there, in tears at the end. The audience and her fellow contestants were going crazy. She's in, I'm telling you. The judges loved her.

Jeremy Rosado, chosen next, sang Carrie Underwood's "I Know You Won't." He just slays it. Jennifer Lopez is in tears and can't really speak afterward. He put his heart out there and really makes us want him to stay. "Such a big heart, such a cool guy," says Randy Jackson.

My gosh, these have been two great performances.

Brielle von Hugel was next. I like her voice a lot, too. Doing Adelle's "Someone Like You," which is generally is a silly choice, she has a great tone that really makes the chorus soar. A bit karaoke, but she does bring it home and has the audience cheering.

I hope she gets in; she's interesting. Steven Tyler thought she was pitchy, Jackson didn't think it was great either, and Lopez seems like she's on the fence.
