Joshua Ledet singing "She's Got a Way" next on "American Idol." Fashion consultant Tommy Hilfiger changes Ledet's outfit from an all-black suit to a tuxedo, says he wants him to "look like a polished superstar."

Guest mentor Diddy calls him "a vulnerable artist when he performs, it's why we connect with him."

Totally looking forward to this. Starts out plain, on a stool, unadorned voice spooling out. Shaping the lyrics, very deliberate in his motions. Not quite sure he's got the tone right so far.

Choir comes out behind him. he's throwing some church into it now. It was good, not great; something was missing tonight for me.

Jennifer Lopez says "Billy Joel wrote his life in his songs," but needed to "feel like you were connecting more to the lyrics and what you were saying." She nails it -- "you were singing it, you weren't SINGING it."

Steven Tyler insanely says "I didn't know that song of Billy Joel's," and then adds, "you made it come to life." Wait, how can anyone, let alone a musician, not know this song?!

Randy Jackson says he wanted him to connect more.
