You know "Undercover Boss." The series where the boss actually spends time in the workplace and pretends to be someone other than the real power behind the throne.
And you may also know Mitchell Modell, chief executive of Modell's Sporting Goods, the chain that was founded in 1889 and now has stores in a number of states.
They're getting together for the Nov. 2 episode. Modell — who graduated from Hewlett High — is a Long Islander, while his father William D. Modell, who died in 2008 at age 86, expanded the Modell's Sporting Goods chain to 136 stores in 11 states and — per his Newsday obit — was a resident of Hewlett Harbor.
