Next up on "American Idol" is Robbie Rosen from Merrick, who was in a wheelchair as a kid. But then wound up walking again.
You can definitely tell this 16-year-old is going to be a fan favorite. He has a great, never-ending smile and he's just beaming. He sings "Yesterday."
It's passionate, soulful; nothing amazingly special, just well-done. And such heart; slow and deliberate, the kind of tone that makes you stop to listen. And he gives it a bit of a shimmy at the end.
"Beautiful, wow" says both Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler. "I think you're cute" says Jennifer Lopez, making Robbie's year.
Judges are all smiling, "crazy mad vocals right there" says Randy. They put him through without even voting.
"This has been my dream forever . . . this is meant to be," says Robbie, as Tyler calls him, "the best in New Jersey."
