Remember Mark Halperin, who variously called the president a -- on June 30 and a -- during a radio interview with Barbara Walters a few years ago? Both instances were un-bleeped; the radio one he apologized for, and the MSNBC one landed him in the soup.

The network "indefinitely" suspended him, but confirmed today that he will be back on the air this week. (Report first confirmed by Multichannel News.) Halperin has been a prominent on-air consultant for MSNBC, which also announced this morning that Rachel Maddow had just been handed a new multi-year contract that will carry her long past the 2012 election.
