New York Mets ace Noah Syndergaard will make a guest appearance next Monday on Long Island’s own prime-time sitcom, “Kevin Can Wait.”

The Mets first posted on Tumblr the unusual casting news Monday afternoon, with this line: “Noah Syndergaard might need a SAG card after his weekend. The ace filmed an upcoming episode of Kevin Can Wait featuring super Mets fan, Kevin James.”

The Tumblr post was accompanied by pictures of Syndergaard on the set dressed as — one can logically assume — Thor.

In the series — taped at Gold Coast Studios in Bethpage — James’ character, Kevin Gable, is a huge Mets fan, and James is as well.

Meanwhile, Billy Joel told Newsday’s Glenn Gamboa that he will “definitely” appear on the CBS show this season. “I don’t know where, I don’t know when,” Joel said. When told that James has said he has been “begging” him to do the show, Joel observed: “But he doesn’t have to beg me. He’s a good guy. We’ll definitely do something for him.”

A CBS spokeswoman said that the episode has not yet been taped.
