Naima Adedapo is doing "Dancing In the Street" on "American Idol," a song that never actually gets performed well on the show, for whatever reason. Oh no, she says she's going to add some African dance to it.
Comes out all in gray, very intense, stalks the street like a lion. She's pretty hippieish. Almost fierce, not sure it fits, actually. There should be a joy, and abandon. Instead, I feel like I'm being told to dance. Or else.
It's not very melodic either. And then the drums bust out and she goes nuts with the dancing. She definitely thinks she can.
Her biggest fan, Steven Tyler, says "once again we see the whole package." Jennifer Lopez calls her an "exciting" performer, says "my first little goosebumps of the night." Randy Jackson says you've finally shown up, it all worked.
