Nate Berkus's syndicated show will end at the end of this season - in the spring. This is a bit of a surprise because it was designed to be one of those show's that would somehow replace "Oprah" - which was pretty much impossible. Oprah, of course, helped launch this, and absolutely launched Berkus's television career. This could be interpreted as another setback for O, who's fighting to get some traction for OWN.

Broadcasting & Cable broke the story earlier. Here's the statement Sony and Harpo gave the mag....

"After careful consideration, we have decided that The Nate Berkus Show will not return for a third season in the fall," said Sony and Harpo in a joint statement. "We are grateful for the hard work and heart that Nate, [executive producer] Corin Nelson and their entire team have poured into the show, and we're very proud of what they've delivered." "I'm incredibly proud of my hard working and talented staff, and proud of the show we were able to produce every day," said Berkus, also in a statement.
