Here's biggish news for Nick Jonas fans: He'll be guesting on "Smash" early next year. So will Bernadette Peters, the great Broadway songstress. These are "gets" for "Smash" which truly, absolutely must work for the network. Its dramas have tanked, and the Peacock is now officially depending on this one, bowing Feb. 6, Mondays at 10.
NBC: Jonas will be playing Lyle West, a hot sitcom star who started his career as a child actor in a Broadway show written by Tom (Christian Borle) and directed by Derek (Jack Davenport), Peters makes an appearance as Leigh Conroy, Ivy’s (Megan Hilty) Tony award-winning mother who was once a theater sensation but now lives vicariously through her daughter.
Here's NBC long preview that hit YouTube last spring.
