Richie 'Cowboy' Law gets kicked out of the MIT group so hooks up in an odd coupling with deep-voiced Jermaine Jones on "American Idol."
Vocal coach Debra Bryd loves Jones' voice but tells him to go learn the song better. The two partners aren't clicking, and Law's not crazy about Bryd either.
They're doing "Breaking Up is Hard to Do" -- totally unique version, slowed way down and sung deep and sincere; quite good, actually. Jones is really charismatic, can't take your eyes off him, he's very serious about this. Best performance so far, hands down.
"Yeah, that's how you do it," says Randy Jackson. "Oh my god, I love you," Jennifer Lopez tells Jones. "You wouldn't think this pairing would work, but it was so perfect."
They show quick snippets of other standout vocalists who moved on -- Hallie Day, Baylie Brown and Chelsea Sorrell. Leaves me wanting more on all of them.
