Paige Miles goes with "Smile" on "American Idol," it's powerful, compelling and hushed. You feel like you're going to miss something if you look away. She gives the song some soul, up there all in black, it's totally believable. I like her, and I like the performance.
Randy says "it just didn't work," too big for you, is just ripping her. Ellen joins in, was sad and heavy, not inspiring, or uplifting.
Kara asks her if she knew it was wrong, she says she loves the song, "sorry it didn't work." Simon calls it "a horrible choice of song," the arrangement was just awful. "This could be the end of the road."
Wow, I'm just out of synch with the judges tonight; I liked it. It wasn't Michael, who Paige loves, but I felt like it was believable and worth listening to.
