Bellmore-raised Peter Izzo, the self-described "pizzapreneur" who is one of 30 initial contestants on ABC’s "The Bachelorette" season 18, survived Tuesday's premiere episode.

The 26-year-old owner of Peter's Pizzeria in Port St. Joe, Florida, arrived dressed all in black, throwing pizza dough into the air and letting it drop to the ground. With a verbal drumroll, he yelled in Italian at bachelorette Michelle Young, "B-b-b-buongiorno, principessa!" ("Good morning, princess!"), and then explained to the camera, "I know that she's a big foodie, which is great, because I change lives one slice at a time." He added of their initial encounter, "I feel like I'm in a Ferrari, my foot's down on the gas, and all the guys are just trying to catch up."

Young dispatched Ryan Fox early after seeing a dossier he brought on how to manipulate for screen time and strategy, and at the rose ceremony sent home Garrett Aida, JoMarri Gable, Brandon Kieffer, Edward Naranjo, Jack Russell and Bryan Witzmann.
