Michaels released after heart procedure
Officials at a Phoenix hospital say rock star Bret Michaels has been released from their care following a successful heart procedure, The Associated Press reports. St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center said yesterday that Michaels left the hospital. The doctor who treated him reported the procedure to fix a hole in his heart produced excellent results. Dr. Mansour Assar says the singer is expected to be able to return to normal activities in a few weeks. Doctors discovered the hole in Michael's heart in April while treating him for a brain hemorrhage.
New Kids, Backstreet reschedule Coliseum gig
Since New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys secured a gig at Fenway Park on June 11, they have to reschedule their Nassau Coliseum show originally set for that day, Newsday's Kevin Amorim reports. The supergroup will now play Uniondale on July 31. All tickets for the original June 11 show will be honored. Refunds are available from the point of purchase.
Bristol Plain offered job on radio show
A Phoenix radio station has offered a job to Bristol Palin, AP reports. Mix 96.9 host Mathew Blades says Sarah Palin's eldest daughter met with the station's management Friday and that they offered her a gig co-hosting with him on his morning show. Palin, 20, daughter of the former Alaska governor hasn't accepted the offer but Blades says she seems interested. The former "Dancing With the Stars" contestant has purchased a five-bedroom house in Maricopa, which is south of Phoenix.
