After more than a year of separation, "Long Island Medium" star Theresa Caputo and her estranged husband, Larry Caputo, have officially ended their marriage of nearly three decades.
"When 'Long Island Medium' began, we as a family signed up to share our lives," Caputo, 51, wrote on Facebook Tuesday. "The good the bad and everything in between. After a year of being separated Larry and I have finalized our divorce. We shared 28 wonderful years together and have two beautiful children, Larry Jr. and Victoria," who are in their 20s. "We will continue to love and support each other like we always have. Thank you for all for the AMAZING love and support for me and my family."
The Hicksville born-and-raised mentalist and her ex-husband, 62, had announced last December that they were parting. "After 28 years of marriage, we have decided to legally separate," they said in a joint statement. "We will always love each other and our two wonderful children. We are united in supporting each other and our family." Theresa Caputo formally filed for divorce in April.
Nassau County Supreme Court records show that on Dec. 12, attorneys of the Garden City firm Gassman Biamonte Betts filed a standard Request for Judicial Intervention for plaintiff Theresa R. Caputo in an uncontested divorce from Lawrence P. Caputo. No disposition date is listed in the online record.
Larry Caputo, who had appeared with her on her TLC show, has not commented on social media. He has said he moved to Los Angeles in September 2017, three months before the joint announcement, explaining to TMZ.com in June that, "The separation was a three-month trial period. And we've moved on from that point. We're in divorce proceedings." He added, "I know she's doing well. I'm happy. We've moved on with our lives."
