Remember all those posts -- some of them mine -- about the bitter falling out Sarah Palin had with Fox News over a number of matters, including her being relegated to a bench-warming role at the conventions and reported sniping between her and Fox News chief Roger Ailes, leading to her departure from the network not quite six months ago?

Well:  File all that under "let bygones be bygones." She has returned, and will be back on the air Monday morning, coincidentally when CNN launches its "New Day" morning program.

Said she in a statement: “The power of Fox News is unparalleled. The role of Fox News in the important debates in our world is indispensable. ... I am pleased and proud to be rejoining Roger Ailes and the great people at Fox.”

Said Ailes in a statement: “I’ve had several conversations with Governor Palin in the past few weeks about her rejoining Fox News as a contributor. ... I have great confidence in her and am pleased that she will once again add her commentary to our programming. I hope she continues to speak her mind.”

Interesting sidenote here: Palin reportedly had been approached by producer Mark Burnett ("The Bible") about launching her own daytime talk show. It's unclear how far those chats went or whether they are continuing, or even whether this new Fox deal precludes such conversations.

Meanwhile, Palin is in the middle of a hot battle with Bill Maher over some offensive remark he made (hey, he's Maher), and now, all of a sudden, she's got a big new bullhorn to hit him over the head with.
