Scotty McCreery is doing "Young Blood" next on "American Idol." Lady Gaga thinks it brings out the humor in his voice and personality -- then she crazily tells him to pretend the mircophone is his girlfriend, stay close to it, and "make love" to it.
Uh, OK. The kid's like 17 and pretty conservative, interesting way to communicate with him. He says he was a bit uncomfortable....
Performance is not great. The song does nothing for him. He's just conversating. He's definitely showing off his personality, but vocally it's a zero. Really odd choice. A normal mentor would've made his switch.
Randy Jackson likes that he had a good time. Steven Tyler says "a little Pat Boone, it was funny, it was good." Ha, that's hilarious, how many of Scotty's fans know who Pat Boone is?! That's exactly it though. He's kid-like with an undeveloped talent, a bit like a corny singer from the 50s and 60s. He's fun to listen to, but nothing there, yet.
Jennifer Lopez wants more next time.
