If anyone has an answer to this question, please share. The promo was called "The UnXploding Simon" and was fascinating and repulsive (that finger), bizarre, and mind-twisting. Think of the various meanings. Is Simon Cowell a Frankenstein monster, pieced together from assembled bits and ephemera? (Is there any "there" there?) Why that full-voiced -- what was it, "Carmina Burana?" -- choral overlay? Is "X Factor" going to have choirs perform, too? And why just Simon? Won't there be other judges? On and on and on we can go. If you missed it, check out the ad again. Plus: "X Factor" just announced a $5-million-record deal (Sony) for the winner of the show.
