'Spider-Man' Cast on Letterman

The cast of the  $65 million, trouble-plagued  musical, "Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark" will appear on  Tuesday's "Late Show with David Letterman," the network has just announced.

We now have some more deets, courtesy of my hard-working colleague Linda  Winer:

Three stars  -- Reeve Carney (Spidey), Jennifer Damiano (Mary Jane) and T.V. Carpio (Arachne) -- will perform a song by Bono and The Edge, called fittingly "Rise Above."

Letterman, of course, has been having no small amount of fun with the much-delayed, accident-plagued show. “Every night, two or three people are injured if not killed,” he said earlier this month. "People are dying to go see the 'Spider-Man.'” Rick Miramontez, spokesman for the show, said yesterday that everyone "has been very flattered by Dave's attention, and they wanted to return the favor by boosting his ratings on Tuesday."
