Stefano Langone is doing "When a Man Loves a Woman" on "American Idol." It could be great or a train wreck.

Starts out on the steps, a bit of a falsetto. It's pretty nice, actually, partly cause it's just a brilliant song.

He's not bringing anything special to it. He's got passion and a big voice, but he's not really connecting -- in part because he's so herky jerky, he's here and then there. And he still has his eyes closed most of the time. A great song, wasted.

Jennifer Lopez shrieks, "I knew you had it in you -- that was beautiful!" Says for the first time, there was like another layer of emotion to it, "magic." Randy Jackson says he's not jumping up and down, says "first part felt a little jerky to me."

"Let it marinate for a second, then counterpounch at the end."

Steven Tyler liked the "old-timey" feel, thought he nailed it.
