Remember last year's VW Darth Vader Super Bowl ad -- a lot of buzz generated from little bucks. The kid? Ah, now you remember. Well, VW this year is seguing to dogs. “The Bark Side” tease has been out for weeks and has generated about 10 million hits already.
VW's strategy, widely emulated, is to generate vast pregame buzz via the web so that money isn't wasted on just one quick 60-second ad that people may or may not see during the game.
