The big man with the 'stache showed up here this afternoon to regale the press with stories about his new series "Blue Bloods."
A member of a family of NYPD cops, he plays chief of police. He's not quitting "Jesse Stone" so don't worry "Stone" fans, and he's not leaving California either. At least not permanently.
In his first series since "Las Vegas," TS said he got back in TV because this show was "an ensemble that would require other talented actors."
He was on set, he recalled, every day for "Magnum P.I.," which -- he said -- "was never cancelled; I left after eight years because I was tired from it, not tired of it."
His shooting schedule on "Blood" will let him continue with the "Jesse Stone" movie franchise, shot in Halifax, Nova Scotia, AND he'll spend time in New York with "Bloods" and the other half on his ranch in California. ("I have a mortgage.")
Of the NY locale, he says, "It'd be hard to argue it's not a better show when shot in New York."
