Happy Halloween, everybody! This week, we'll celebrate by showcasing five TV examples of that orange, fleshy fruit that graces so many front porches this time of year.

Pumpkin. What Honey Boo Boo calls her 12-year-old sister, Lauryn, on "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo."

The Great Pumpkin. From the vintage "Peanuts" special (which airs Wednesday): It's a holiday icon (like Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny) who really exists, swears Linus Van Pelt. And so he spends Halloween in the pumpkin patch waiting for him to show up.

The Slutty Pumpkin. Katie Holmes played this guest character on "How I Met Your Mother," a woman who had been Ted's (Josh Radnor) longtime obsession after he first spotted her in a provocative pumpkin costume at a Halloween party.

"Punkin' Chunkin'". Science Channel special featuring folks who love to turn their pumpkins into projectiles.

Smashing Pumpkins. Billy Corgan's alt-rock band has been the musical guest several times on "Saturday Night Live."
