As you may know from TVZone and elsewhere, David Mills - a particularly fine TV writer and one of the co-producers of "Treme," passed away last night. It's quite a shock considering his age (48), vitality and great respect in the TV industry.
Meanwhile, check out this big clip from HBO that charts the production of "Treme" - pronounced "TREM-ay" just in case you are wondering. It'll be a big deal for HBO, and what I've seen of it so far, the news is all good.
Also: Ken Tucker of "Entertainment Weekly" in his appreciation reminds me of a well-read blog Mills has produced for some time called "Undercoverblackman." It's all-things-Mills, and particularly all things funk. He was a huge George Clinton fan, so that passion (and passion for funkadelica) is all here.
