Beverly Hills -- Welcome, friends, to sunny California where clouds have gathered over one place -- NBC -- which...
Enough with the cliches! It's too early for those. What we have in fact is a big network -- NBC -- that is about to sell its new programs to a hypercritical body of viewers otherwise known as critics and other assorted types who have convened here for said purpose.
Now, to follow said NBC news today and tomorrow, you have a couple of options. Come back here to TV Zone where I'll update from the Television Critics Association gathering as frequently as necessary . . . or follow me on Twitter at vernejgay@twitter. Or . . . just check over to your right on this page. (Also, each of the new shows have twitter handles -- easy to find, and they should update you quickly as well.)
What to look for today? NBC's new boss, Bob Greenblatt, meets the crowd at 9 -- his first such meet unless you count Showtime which I do not (different network, entirely different issues). The session on "The Playboy Club" is at 10; much interest in that. Then, the Hank Azaria show, "Free Agents" at 11:30 PT, or 2:30 your time. There's a Super Bowl session at noon (3); then the Whitney Cummings' show session; "Up all Night" (Christina Applegate, Will Arnett); "Grimm;" "Prime Suspect" with Maria Bello! - and . . . finally . . ."The Sing Off."
So it's a very full day. Stick around.
