The "Twilight" films will soon finally close the lid on their coffin, but the franchise's stars and creators aren't done yet.
A trailer for "The Host," an adaptation of a sci-fi romance by "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer, is set to premiere before tomorrow's premiere of "The Hunger Games," according to People.com. The film stars Saoirse Ronan and Max Irons (son of Jeremy) in the lead roles and is directed by Andrew Niccol ("In Time"). It's due in theaters March 29, 2013.
Meyer herself said on her blog that it would air today on "Access Hollywood" and be available via Yahoo! Movies. (As of this writing, however, Yahoo! doesn't seem to be hosting "The Host.")
That means that "Hunger Games" viewers will get a double-shot of Meyer mania, since the trailer for the final "Twilight" installment is also set to debut before the movie.
What's more, a teaser for "Cosmopolis," starring Robert Pattinson, recently surfaced online. And this does not look like the star's usual PG-13 material. Directed by David Cronenberg ("A Dangerous Method") and based on the novel by Don DeLillo, the movie puts Pattinson in the role of a degenerate playboy indulging in some creepy kicks.
The trailer, which appears to come from France (note the subtitles), shows Pattinson frolicking with a partly-nude femme fatale and shooting a bullet through his own hand. It's too explicit to post here, but you can find it on YouTube.
