The same day Usher defended his protege, Justin Bieber, on "Ellen," Bieber was spotted hitting up three Manhattan nightclubs in a matter of a few hours.
When Usher told Ellen DeGeneres people close to the 19-year-old pop star hope "he'll continue to just mature," he probably didn't mean hitting up 21-plus clubs as a teenager.
At least two of the three spots TMZ reports Bieber visited late Wednesday (Marquee and 1 Oak) have 21-and-up age restrictions, according to their Yelp listings. Marquee in particular clearly states on its website that ticket holders for its May 29 event "must be 21 years or older to attend." Avenue, in the Chelsea neighborhood, advertised its Wednesday night event as 21-plus, according to an ad obtained by TMZ, but allegedly let Bieber in anyway.
He strolled out of one spot with what looks like a lollipop in his mouth — probably a sign he was too young to be there.
As TMZ points out, it is possible the venues are licensed to allow minors, but chose to place age restrictions on their events that particular night.
