AnnaSophia Robb, 19, plays a young Carrie Bradshaw on "Sex and the City" prequel "The Carrie Diaries," and the actress hit New York Fashion Week on Monday night in style, just like Carrie would.
"I've been exposed to a lot more designers," Robb said of playing the fashionable character. "It's been a confidence boost," she added, saying that she has more fun with her look.
Robb wore a cobalt blue dress by Alice + Olivia to the brand's fall 2013 presentation.
"I've never been able to find a piece of Stacey's I didn't like," she said of Stacey Bendet, the designer behind Alice + Olivia. "It's so sophisticated and it covers a large age range."
Also at the presentation were actresses Victoria Justice and Vanessa Hudgens, who opted for a black and white butterfly print skirt and white blouse with a matching Peter Pan collar. The look was noticeably more girly than the edgy style Hudgens has been known for.
"I've gotten a lot more open-minded," she said. "I'm finally spreading my wings and trying different looks."
Still, she will continue to stay true to herself.
"You can't please everybody no matter what you do," she said, "especially when it comes to fashion."
But how does Hudgens best prepare for her many moments in the spotlight?
"When you really need to pull it together, there's nothing easier than a bold lip and cat eye," she said.
