The social swirl for the month of August got under way this past weekend with fundraisers, celebrity parties and a feast that could make Italy jealous.

In Montauk, actress Julianne Moore and her husband, director Bart Freundlich were honorary co-chairs at the yearly Diamond in the Rough Gala, whose proceeds benefit the restoration and upkeep of the Montauk Playhouse Community Center. To add even more celebrity into the mix, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and his wife, Nancy Mack, were also honorary co-chairs at this star-studded benefit.

Over in Southampton, the Capri Hotel was full of glamour for the Hamptons Magazine cover party for famous interior designer and TV personality Nate Berkus. Notable guests like actress Jessica Ecklund and Southampton's 75Main restaurant owner Zach Erdem attended.

With a staggering attendence of more than tens of thousands of people, Glen Cove's Feast of St. Rocco's nickname "The Best Feast in the East' lived up to its reputation. This celebration had everything from homemade pasta to homemade ice cream, plus music, dancing, and games.
